How can I order a seafood box?

Just click here. Choose your seafood box (10, 15 portions or custom box) and how often you would like it delivered (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) and your preferred delivery day (Wednesday, Thursday or Friday). Need some help ordering? Email us on hello@eatfish.co.uk or call 01556-485-002

What can I expect in my Seafood Box?

We guarantee that our seafood is as fresh as you can get, and it'll be at your door within 36 hours of leaving the sea. It all comes packed so that there'll be no nasty fishy smells anywhere in the kitchen. Our seafood is never frozen, it is ready to cook or pop in to the freezer. All our seafood comes deboned, skinned and filleted by hand by our expert fishmongers.

The contents of the seafood boxes will change with the seasons. This takes the pressure off the overfished species and gives them time to grow throughout the year.

At EatFish, we believe that sustainable is best. This means that we only work with fishermen that use sustainable fishing methods, so that there will still be delicious Scottish seafood for us all to enjoy in years to come. We care about our oceans and it's our top priority to protect them.

Can I choose which Fish goes in my Box?

Discovering delicious new fish is one of the things that makes EatFish so enjoyable, and we encourage you to take an adventure with us and enjoy trying new seafood. Sustainability is our main focus, so by changing the contents of your seafood box with the seasons, it takes the pressure off the overfished species and gives them time to grow throughout the year. We want to ensure there will still be fish for us to eat in years to come.

Can I place individual seafood orders?

EatFish is a "flexiship" service only. This allows us to guarantee consistent high quality sustainable seafood. However, we will shortly be launching a marketplace which will be accessible to our "flexiship" members. This will allow you to place individual orders for in season seafood and give you access to other local Scottish producers that we support.

When do you deliver?

We deliver across the UK on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays dependent on your postcode region. You can select your Seafood Box to be delivered fortnightly, 4-weekly or 8-weekly. Deliveries typically arrive between 8am-8pm by APC or DHL.

What if I am not home when my seafood box is delivered?

Don't worry! If you are not home during delivery, our courier will drop the box off at your front door (or wherever you specify in your Delivery Notes).

If you live in an area where a box could not be easily left, we suggest one of the following solutions:
-Provide the address of a helpful neighbour who will be home during the delivery window and can accept the package for you.
-Have the box delivered to your workplace.
-Have the box delivered to a nearby business or restaurant that won't mind you picking up the box at a later time that day.

We will send you a notification 48 hours before your delivery, giving you plenty of time to make any changes that you need to.

How do I pause or cancel my Seafood Box Delivery?

If you're going on holiday or just fancy a Seafood break, simply email us on hello@eatfish.co.uk or call 01556-485-002 and we'll take care of it! Just make sure that you make these changes by the latest 7 days prior to your delivery date. We are unable to accept changes after this time. This is so that we can source your fish sustainably and ensure you have the highest quality fish on the market.

How do I pay for my Seafood Box?

You can pay by credit/debit card, and with our "flexiship" service, you don't have to re-order a box as we debit your account and send your box straight to you for you to enjoy. For example, if you choose a fortnightly box to be delivered on a Wednesday, every second Wednesday you will receive your Seafood Box.

Your account will be pre authorised 10 days prior to your delivery date and amount debited 7 days prior to your delivery. You can change or pause your Seafood Box by emailing us on hello@eatfish.co.uk or call us on 01556-485-002 7 days prior to your scheduled delivery.

What is a "flexiship"?

We are passionate about making it easier for you to enjoy fresh seafood on a regular basis. Our "flexiship" service means that you can enjoy the cooking part without the hassle of trying to source fresh seafood. Also, by placing consistent orders with our independent fishermen, guarentees us access to sustainable, high quality seafood that supports our oceans.

How long will my box stay chilled for?

Each box is packed with frozen acrylate polymet macks, which maintain a temperature of -5°C for over 30 hours. They won't drip and you can even reuse them by simply soaking them in water and popping them in the freezer.

How do I store my seafood?

Most importantly, never let your seafood stay out for too long. Once you receive your Seafood Box, be sure to put everything in your refrigerator or freezer as soon as possible.

Here's a few tips for maximising lifespan and freshness:

- Refrigerating Fish: Place fish in the coldest part of your refirgerator - often the bottom drawer - to maintain freshness.

- Refrigerating Shellfish: Fresh Shellfish needs to be kept alive, do not store them in airtight containers. Place in the refrigerator covered with damp paper towels or cloth to keep them nice and moist.

- Freezing Fish: Place in the coldest part of your freezer, allowing as large a surface area as possible to be exposed to cold air. To thaw, place fish in a covered pan in the refrigerator for 24 hour. To thaw quickly, place the fish in a watertight bag in a sink with cool running water for 30 minutes per pound.

- Freezing Shellfish: Not recommended unless you have a commercial freezer - you need to freeze below 0°F. Remove shellfish from shell and immediately place them in a shallow waterproof container. Freeze for up to 1 month. Before use, allow to completely thaw in the refrigerator.

Will my box leak or smell?

No. All the seafood in your box comes individually packed, ready to be popped straight in to your freezer with no need for an extra freezer bag. If you want to cook it straight away, just remove your seafood from its packaging and away you go!

What does Sustainable mean?

Sustainable seafood means that the population of the species is healthy, well managed and farmed or caught in an environmentally friendly way. We are constantly monitoring every product we sell to ensure that your purchase is supporting those fishermen that are responsible stewards of the sea.

What if I am not happy with my order?
