Getting quality seafood can be a challenge. Even at the best market it’s difficult to know just how old the product is or where it came from. In supermarkets, seafood can be frozen for up to 6 months before it is sold as “fresh” to the customer, often changing hands up to a dozen times.
With an EatFish flexiship, you’re connected to over 20 small boat fishermen across Scotland. This means you get the highest quality product as fresh as possible – and we can tell you where it came from.
Unless you catch it yourself, it doesn’t get any fresher than that!
Our ethos is to make “Buy Fresh & Buy Local” a convenient and practical reality for the consumer. Many of the fishing boats in Scotland are family owned and operated. To the fishermen, we will care, listen and reward outstanding produce. To our customers, we will provide local, quality, fresh seafood at competitive prices.
With over 20 small producers from every coast, we are connecting you back to the source!
Traditionally when fish is processed, 10% of it is discarded. This is a tremendous waste of some the healthiest parts of the fish, like the belly and collar. At EatFish we donate these trimmings to our non-profit partner FairShare - an amazing organisation that provides meals with love to local families in ‘deep poverty’. Our hope is that a high-protein and omega 3-filled diet will help boost health and happiness in our communities
Over 82,100 people benefit from FareShare food every day, thank you for your support!
